Redesigning a Complex University Website

Sabancı University’s website serves a wide range of audiences, including prospective and current students, academics, and administrative staff. With a large amount of academic and institutional content, the main challenge was creating a structure that could make information easier to understand and navigate across different user needs.

The redesign focused on establishing a clearer content hierarchy, a consistent interface, and a responsive system that could support the scale of the university’s digital presence.

Designing Across 150+ Screens

As a UI/UX Designer at Agency Look, I worked across more than 150 screens during the 11-month project. My role focused on translating a large and varied content structure into clear page layouts, interaction patterns, and reusable interface components.

I worked on content hierarchy, responsive behavior, and consistency across different sections of the website. Rather than treating each page as an individual design, we established shared patterns and components that could be reused throughout the platform while accommodating different types of content.

Creating a Consistent System at Scale

The final design brought the university’s different content types and sections into a more consistent digital system. Shared layouts, reusable components, and responsive patterns created a common foundation across the website while allowing individual sections to serve different content needs.

The project resulted in a redesigned platform that is easier to maintain, extend, and navigate without relying on each page being designed as a separate experience.
